Privacy policy
In effect from
This policy is about this website and the appointment requests sent from it. It is not the notice that covers your medical record - that is a separate document, given to you at the clinic, and different rules apply to it.
Who is responsible for your information
Bali Medic Care, at Jl. Arjuna No. 88X, Legian, Kuta, Badung, Bali 80361, is responsible for the information collected through this website. Questions about privacy go to [email protected].
Our clinics are run by one organisation. A request you send goes to the clinic you chose, and it is that clinic's team who will contact you.
What this policy covers, and what it does not
It covers what you type into this website, and what our servers record while serving it to you.
It does not cover your medical record. Anything a doctor writes about you during a consultation is held under Indonesia's medical records rules: those set their own retention period and their own conditions for release, and nothing in this policy changes them. Ask at reception for that notice.
What the booking form collects
We ask for as little as the clinic needs to hold a time for you and to confirm it.
- Your name, so the clinic knows who the appointment is for.
- An email address, so a confirmation can be sent to you.
- A telephone number, so the clinic can reach you - usually on WhatsApp.
- Which of our clinics you chose. This decides which team receives the request, and it is the one answer the form will not proceed without.
- The treatment you are asking about, if you picked one.
- The date and time you would prefer.
- Anything you write in the notes box.
What we deliberately do not ask for
We do not ask for your NIK, your passport number, or any other identity document. None of them is needed to request an appointment. Bring identification to the clinic instead.
The notes box is for practical things: which treatment you want to ask about, whether you need step-free access, who is coming with you. It is not part of your medical record and it is not the place for a diagnosis, a medication list or test results. Those belong with the doctor, in the room.
What happens to your request
It is sent to the clinic you chose and appears in that clinic's appointment system. Someone from that team then contacts you to agree a time - usually on WhatsApp, sometimes by telephone or email.
A request is not a booking. You have an appointment when the clinic confirms one.
What we never do with it
We do not sell it and we do not rent it. We do not use it to build an advertising profile, and we do not pass it to advertisers or to data brokers.
Who else handles it, and why
Three other parties touch this information, each for one narrow purpose and none of them free to use it for their own:
- Mejadokter, which supplies and hosts the appointment and records software the clinics run on. Your request is stored there.
- Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check runs when you submit the form. It is there to keep automated submissions out, and it receives a token from your browser rather than the contents of the form.
- OpenStreetMap, which serves the map tiles on the contact page. Loading that map tells their servers your IP address, in the way that loading any image from another site does.
WhatsApp
Every WhatsApp button on this site opens WhatsApp with our number and, on some pages, a message already typed for you. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can delete the message first.
Once you are in WhatsApp you are in Meta's application, under Meta's terms rather than ours. The clinic can read what you send there and keeps it as part of its correspondence with you.
Cookies, and how we measure the site
We measure how this site is used - which pages people open, how far down they read, where they give up - so that we can fix what is confusing rather than guess at it. Two services do that for us: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Both set cookies that stay on your device between visits.
What they record is behaviour, not identity. We do not learn your name from them. Clarity masks text before it leaves your browser, so what you type into the booking form is not part of what we see. Neither service is used to advertise to you, and we sell nothing to anyone.
You can turn it off. "Cookie choice" at the foot of every page stops both services, and we will not ask you again unless you open it yourself.
If you are reading this from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, none of it runs until you say so: you are asked the first time you arrive, nothing is set before you answer, and "no" is remembered. That is your law rather than ours, and it follows where you are rather than where you are from - so it applies when you browse from home and not when you browse from Bali.
The language you are reading is part of the address of the page, not a cookie. Separately from all of the above, Cloudflare may set a short-lived cookie of its own as part of the bot check described earlier.
How long we keep it
An appointment request is kept for as long as the clinic needs it to run the appointment and to hold an accurate record of who was seen and when. Ask, and it is deleted - unless the law requires the clinic to keep it, which is explained under Your rights below.
If you were treated, the clinical record that follows from the visit is kept under the medical records rules mentioned above, which set their own period.
Your rights
Under Indonesia's personal data protection law (UU No. 27 of 2022) you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, withdraw a consent you have given, and object to a particular use.
Write to the address in the last clause and we will answer. Where the law requires us to keep something - a clinical record we are obliged to retain, for instance - we will tell you so and why, rather than simply not acting.
Children
A parent or guardian should send the request for anyone under 18, and the clinic will confirm the appointment with them. We do not knowingly collect a child's details from the child.
If this policy changes
The date at the top is the version you are reading. If something that matters changes, that date changes with it, and the new version applies from then - it is not applied backwards to a request you have already sent.
